I’ve only used 400D in 120 and must admit it isn’t my favorite film. I will freely admit I badly under exposed my first roll and believe me don’t under expose this stuff. Under exposed it is very muddy with a horrible greenish cast to it. My best results have been at ISO 200-320. Right now I’m trying Kodak Vision 3 500T with the remjet still on it and processed in ECN2 chemicals for my 135 cameras. But I rather doubt I’ll be getting anymore CineStill films

250D in ECN looks better.

I really like the perspective of the longer medium format lens, while keeping the wide field of view of a shorter 135 lens. It's really apparent when the field of view is normal to wide, say 35-50mm equivalent, and the subject is close to the camera. The shorter lens will have some distortion and the subject appears to poke out of the frame, but this effect is absent with the longer medium format lens.

One thing I hate about this film is ….box! Maybe it’s stupid but for me this purple label is sooo misleading . I would fire guy responsible for it immediately 🤷🏻

May the 4th be with you. I will lookinto this film. All your photos in all formats came out nice. I will say. From time to time I see a photographer that has interesting and unique light leaks on their photos. Yours are included. I think they add to the photos. I would personally keep them in if they were my photos and exhibit them in my art shows. Good Job.

I've noticed my mamiya 7 sometimes winds the finished rolls a bit too loose, and i get the same light leaks! 9/10 from the top and bottom of the negative, and it all comes down to how much i cranked that lever when finishing off the roll

In the future if you want to see when the tide goes out they sell tide booklets where you can see how low the tide will be on any given date, the also have tide times listed.

Did they pay you to avoid saying daylight or something?

It could be that the camera with the 35mm film has incorrect shutter speeds and thus underexposes a little bit. Or are your 35mm rolls from the release batch or just older than the 4x5 and 120? Because movie stocks don’t age like stills stocks.

Thanks for the great video! I am not sure...for me these 400D film just looks too "perfect" like...taken with a digital camera or so. I just tried the Vision 3 Film for the first time with Silbersalz35 and i am very looking forward to see the results and maybe change my mind. Well...I did shoot some 800T thought but yeah...didn't just everyone shoot some gas stations from time to time... :D

But what would that boat look like on 400D in 35mm half frame?! How could I ever shoot boats with my brand new Pentax 17, when I have 400D loaded?? Caleb!!

Some awesome nautical Bad Flashes content. Bangers all, especially that 4"x5" and 120.

CineStill's shady AF business practices all but ended my interest in the brand. Which is really...fine. Actually. It's nice buying from smaller mom-and-pop companies who do EXACTLY what they do and don't threaten peers with lawsuits.
